Danielle + Kyle

Today, I’m sharing photos of Danielle and Kyle’s classic wedding in Long Island, New York, that took place a little over a month ago. All of the beautifully captured wedding photos above were taken by John-Paul Teutonico Photography.

When searching for her wedding invitations, Danielle was on the lookout for beautiful and classic letterpress invitations. Together, we decided on a gorgeous custom calligraphy font by Angelique, Ink and paired it subtle blind letterpress details in the corners. Her invitations were printed in Moss ink on Pearl White Crane Lettra.

The ceremony took place at Saint Aidan’s Church and the evening reception was held at the Carlyle on the Green. This particular reception site holds a special place in my heart as it the where my husband and I got married a few years ago! Danielle and Kyle chose fresh peach and forest green as their color combo, a fun him-her color contrast and a perfect choice coupled with the rich tones of their venue. We kept it clean and simple for the reception stationery that paired beautifully with her floral arrangements!

Sarah + Brian

I am really excited for another real wedding on the blog! Today, I’m honored to share Sarah and Brian’s seaside wedding in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware, that took place last September. All of the beautifully captured wedding photos below were taken by Maria DeForrest Photography.

When I first met Sarah back in college, it became instantly clear to me that she was one of the most kind-hearted, genuine and free-spirited people I had ever met. She was always a hopeless romantic, and I was so delighted when we met Brian for the first time because they were absolutely perfect for each other. It is always so special to design the paper footprint behind a wedding you have so much invested in.

Located at a truly unique coastal venue, The Indian River Life-Saving Station at Delaware Seashore State Park, Sarah and Brian’s nuptials were as quirky, colorful and cool as they are. Sarah wanted her stationery suite to be light, airy and casual; more fancy-free than frilly and fussy. We chose the core color combination of classic navy with a watercolor effect and white to compliment the beachy breezes of the venue.

The concept was nautical but not cliched. Some of my favorite parts were the dotted borders, which look a little bit like the string lights you might find along a dock, the grosgrain bow that added some dimension to the ceremony program, and Sarah’s little note on to her lady-guests in the invitation: “Ladies, leave your heels at home and bring your sandals!” A sentiment like that on an invite totally sets the tone for a relaxed reception that’s all about love and fun!

Escort cards are sometimes forgotten about on the reception stationery to-do list, but when given a little bit of attention, can be such a fun and fanciful focal display for the guests to chat about! — There’s a million different ways to go about designing and displaying them. Sarah and Brian kept theirs simple and sweet! They looked so pretty printed on kraft-colored paper and little blue bows–especially when fluttering in the breeze after being strung them up inside a vintage wooden frame! Lets also not forget about the keepsake matchbooks for their guests. They looked adorable piled up in a basket, and  helped light the way home for the heartiest guests who danced late into the night. Yours truly included!

It was so amazing to see one of my college best friends tie the knot with the man she loves. I’m so lucky to be able to do what I love and work with friends to create designs that truly match their endless charms. Congrats, Sarah and Brian! Cheers to a lifetime of happiness! xo

Coleen and Matt’s wedding was proof that keeping it simple, romantic, yet still sophisticated is the best way to make an impression. This couple’s New York nuptials, which culminated with a beautiful reception at the serene Water’s Edge in Long Island City, featured classic, romantic details and a timeless stationery suite to match. Packing their big day with friends, family, elegantly aesthetics and plenty of peonies, Coleen and Matt’s nuptials were a study in just how GORGEOUS simplicity can be! And finally – let’s not forget the bride’s exquisite gown by Marchesa (which is definitely among our top 5 favorite dresses EVER, by the way!)

And of course, we can’t forget the stationery! We kept it classic and chic for this wedding’s letterpress invitation suite and coordinating reception pieces, all of which featured a lovely hand calligraphy by Angelique, Ink. Hand-tied burlap bows embellished the ceremony’s programs, which added a soft touch to the wedding’s gorgeous floral scene and stunning mercury glass decor elements.

Kayla + Brendan

At Drolet Paperie, we love working with new clients to bring their wedding dreams to life on paper. We are even more excited to share some glimpses of these gorgeous weddings we have had the pleasure of being a part of. And what better wedding to share first on the blog than one that was a little extra special!

Everything old was new again with Kayla and Brendan’s nuptials, which boasted an unforgettable pewter and marigold color combo. We love how the bright pops of yellow offset the vintage charm of classic pewter, and we thought it couldn’t match our couple’s sophisticated yet modern tastes any better.

Located at the gorgeous Butler Museum of American Art, Kayla and Brendan’s big day needed a stationery concept that backed up their artsy yet elegant settings and funky personalities. So we paired rich, lacy yellow flourishes with a combination of bookish block lettering and touches of script for the entire suite, from the invites to the menus to the clever signs for the cigar bar and photo booth. Marigold rose petals, clean, bright whites and even the groom’s witty socks helped to tie it all in, for a stylish ambiance that you couldn’t resist smiling at.

Kayla and Brendan were full of great ideas that we can’t wait to share with future brides and grooms. Place cards at their Sparkler Send-Off station invited guests to grab a sparkler and “light the way” for the newlyweds as a finale to the wedding, while guests who stayed at a nearby hotel received welcome kits that included door hangers we designed that read “Please do not disturb: We are recovering from Kayla and Brendan’s wedding.”
