I am really excited for another real wedding on the blog! Today, I’m honored to share Sarah and Brian’s seaside wedding in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware, that took place last September. All of the beautifully captured wedding photos below were taken by Maria DeForrest Photography.
When I first met Sarah back in college, it became instantly clear to me that she was one of the most kind-hearted, genuine and free-spirited people I had ever met. She was always a hopeless romantic, and I was so delighted when we met Brian for the first time because they were absolutely perfect for each other. It is always so special to design the paper footprint behind a wedding you have so much invested in.
Located at a truly unique coastal venue, The Indian River Life-Saving Station at Delaware Seashore State Park, Sarah and Brian’s nuptials were as quirky, colorful and cool as they are. Sarah wanted her stationery suite to be light, airy and casual; more fancy-free than frilly and fussy. We chose the core color combination of classic navy with a watercolor effect and white to compliment the beachy breezes of the venue.
The concept was nautical but not cliched. Some of my favorite parts were the dotted borders, which look a little bit like the string lights you might find along a dock, the grosgrain bow that added some dimension to the ceremony program, and Sarah’s little note on to her lady-guests in the invitation: “Ladies, leave your heels at home and bring your sandals!” A sentiment like that on an invite totally sets the tone for a relaxed reception that’s all about love and fun!
Escort cards are sometimes forgotten about on the reception stationery to-do list, but when given a little bit of attention, can be such a fun and fanciful focal display for the guests to chat about! — There’s a million different ways to go about designing and displaying them. Sarah and Brian kept theirs simple and sweet! They looked so pretty printed on kraft-colored paper and little blue bows–especially when fluttering in the breeze after being strung them up inside a vintage wooden frame! Lets also not forget about the keepsake matchbooks for their guests. They looked adorable piled up in a basket, and helped light the way home for the heartiest guests who danced late into the night. Yours truly included!
Now onto the wedding photos of the gorgeous couple and not to mention Sarah’s stunning gown..
It was so amazing to see one of my college best friends tie the knot with the man she loves. I’m so lucky to be able to do what I love and work with friends to create designs that truly match their endless charms. Congrats, Sarah and Brian! Cheers to a lifetime of happiness! xo
